The three most virulent forms of the "mind virus", the ones that have spread the fastest and caused the most psychic destruction are the memes of "Internet Gambling/Texas Hold-em", "The American Dream" and "The Down Jones, Industrial Averages". Just think of "The Dow Jones" as a "Slot Machine" for the average, naive investor fixed by the powers-that-be to function much like a "cash vacuum" or "Cash transfer" scheme. THe true private "tax" on triple net profits.
The silliness you see with the Dow right now is a group of wealthy individuals inaugurating a series of "controlled burns" of the Dow's "swarmiest" and "memetically-engorged" non existent pieces of paper they call stock, with a series of computer controlled "upsides". Today, this allows the "Financial Sector" to "Harvest the necessary billions" to keep their industry afloat. The truly sad thing is that the Average American investor is just too trusting.
